Drink plenty of water to remove any toxins. Skin thats breaking out usually is a signal that there is an imbalance in the body. Could be something as simple as diet. Eat plenty of fresh foods. Veggies and fruits.

As for a face cleanser, you want something that is going to be gentle and non-drying. I've found Garnier Nutrionististe Nurti-Pure detoxifying gel cleanser to be very mild. You don't want to wash more then twice a day unless you're very active. For a toner I would use Witch Hazel. Don't use anything with alcohol in it as alcohol dries the skin out and you don't want that. You can use Witch Hazel anytime you want just to feel a little fresher. For a nice cooling touch I place a smaller bottle of it in my fridge during the summer months.

When washing your face always use your fingertips in gentle circular motions. Also pick up an oil-free gel moisturizer with an SPF of 15 or higher. (15 is average). Staying with the same product line as your cleanser is best since product lines are made to work together.

I used every kind of cleanser, Neutrogena, Burt's Bee natural tomato soap and toner, Olay, etc. My dermatologist gave me some cleanser that they sell at their office. Its 2.5% Benzyl Peroxide. Come to find out it is the same chemical found in Clean and Clear, except Clean and Clear is 10%. The stuff from my doctor has ground up pumice stone in it so it exfoliates and I use that at night after I take my make up off with the Clean and Clear makeup remover (highly recommended) and then I use the Clean and Clear wash in the morning. It has been the only thing that has worked to clear up my acne and I saw improvements from the 2nd day I used it! That particular kind of acne medication isnt as popular as Salicyclic acid, but I got no results with salicyclic and got great ones with Benzyl Peroxide!
Reply:The source below talks about oily skin care and also home remedies for oily skin.
Reply:I started developing acne when I turned 25...never really had problems in the past, I have dry skin. I have tried tons and tons of different products, gone to dermatologist, started using some Rx topical creams and an oral anti-biotic...the antibiotic started causing hyperpigmentation, so I stopped...did some research and found a few studies suggesting that vitamins b5 and zinc supplements to be as effective for acne treatment as Rx antibiotics. I have started taking both and my dermatologist was suprised to hear that I was no longer taking the antibiotic, because my acne has really cleared up. Difficult part is that the studies using B5 vitamin (AKA Pantothenic Acid) had participants taking 10g of b5 supplements (500mg capsules are usually available which means you are taking 20 pills a day...). I break it up into 5 pills 4X/day...not that bad and definitely worth the results of clear skin. I also take zinc supplements (50mg 2x/day). There are powder drinks available that have the B5, zinc and other minerals/vitamins good for the skin available like the one at this site: http://www.skinb5.com.

B5 supplements usually known as Pantothenic Acid can be expensive esp at taking 20 pills/day...the lowest price I have found is at swansons vitamins...good service as well. Here is the web site.

Lastly, getting regular facials with exfoliation will help remove dead skin cells, make your skin look clearer. Don't forget to moisturize...even if you feel like your skin is oily, you still need to moisturize. Ask your esthetician or dermatologist about what would be a good moisturizer for your skin. best of luck on getting clear skin.
