I have a small lump under my left armpit, could it be cancerous?

A few days ago I noticed a small lump under my armpit. I just gave birth 6 weeks ago and I wonder if it has anything to do with hormones. It is kind of sore to the touch. It is right under the skin, not deep at all. I'm 27 years old and I'm hoping that this is not cancerous but I'm pretty nervous about it.

Go see a doctor just incase that way you will know for sure what it is

it might be a sist....... i think thats how you spell it
Reply:no way to tell until it is biopsied
Reply:It might or might not be. The only way to tell is to see your doctor. Dont wait to long. Early prevention is everything if it is cancer. Best of luck!
Reply:It's probably a blocked milk duct (that happened to me) but be sure to talk with your doctor about it.
Reply:Probably a swollen gland, changes in hormones can make them swell; especially that one. But nevertheless, it needs to be checked out by a doc, just to make sure:)
Reply:It's probably your lymph node. Check it out with the doctor, he can give you the right meds and advice for you.
Reply:It's most likely an ingrown hair.... or it could be a form of acne.... does it have a head... I've known people who have had red bumps under their armpits and they were ingrown hairs that probably what it is. This is caused alot of the times by not shaving enough or not consistently. Don't skip days!
Reply:when you go see your doctor at your 6 week checkup, mention it. it could be nothing at all, or it could be something that needs to be looked at. did you bu any changes hit the under arm?
Reply:im no dr. but if its right under the skin and sore to the touch then chances are pretty good it is not cancer, have a dr. check it out
