My friend's cat had one and it was just a popped blood vessel. The vet drained it a little and the cat was fine. Good Luck!

i wouldnt worry about this too much. they probably just got a bug bite. but if it is serious, i would go see a vet and ask what they think is wrong.
Reply:it could be an abscess but you should take him to the vet thats the only person who is qualified to tell you what it is and what treatment is required
Reply:if it is soft then it probably nothing too serious- however any lump needs to be seen by a vet soon
Reply:it could be a bug bite, or just something that was always there. if you said under the skin, that takes away the idea of an engorged tick. I don't know. Sometimes they have this on horses, and it's no big deal. Call your vet and just ask him what it could be, you probably shouldnt have to drive there or anything. It doesnt sound that serious
Reply:Sometimes cats will get a bump or bumps on their chin from their food bowl. Have you changed dishes, or does the cat really spend a lot of time with his face in the bowl? Sometimes a metal bowl or lower edged bowl can help.
Reply:That could be serious, I would get to a vet. If it is cancer, it can be cut off if caught early, and cured. It also could be feline acne, which is also very serious because it can spread into the system and cause a serious infection.
Reply:Sometimes it is the small things that can be serious. Best to take your cat to the vet ASAP to have it checked out as some things can only be treated if seen to in the early stages. Then again it could be nothing but the peace of mind is well worth it. If you are low on cash perhaps you could call the vet and speak to someone there. they may ask you questions about it and let you know what they think it could be and if it is worth seeing the vet.
