Literally overnight, my 4 year old lab/pit (spayed) female dog has developed small fleshy lumps under her skin, focused mainly around her torso and hindquarters on her back. They're not large, but large enough for the hair to be, well, lumpy...all under 1/2" in diameter. They don't hurt her-she doesn't even seem to notice anything different when I rub them or otherwise mess with them. No discernible changes in behavior, eating habits, or anything else, just these soft lumps all over. Anyone ever run into anything like this before, or know what it is-whether or not I should be concerned? Thanks in advance for anything.
Anyone know anything about lumpy skin?
If your dog dosn't seem bothered by you tuching them they might not be serious. Watch her and if she starts scraching at them or becomes bothered take her to a vet. The bumps could be a rash or something as serious as tumors. Or it could be that maybe she bumped in to something and they are just lumps. Are there a lot of them or just a few. It could also be a type of skin parasite like flees or ticks. You might try giving her a bath with some oatmeal dog shampoo this will help sooth the skin and get rid of any parasites. Good luck
