How do you get rid of darkness under your eye?

i have really fair and basically translucent skin. (not albino though). You can see some vains through the skin on my face and i have darkness under my eyes because i think there are vains there too. How do i cover this up?
How do you get rid of darkness under your eye?
You can cover it with several cover makeups, but Avon and I am sure other companies have products that they advertise.

They claim to do away with the dark under the eyes. I too am

very light and have dark circles under the eyes. I plan to try the

Avon product and see how that works.

Skin dryness problem??

My skin is dry esp the part around my nose %26amp; under eye, what should I use? I have brownish tan skin naturally %26amp; juss got tanner from swimming in the sun, now my skin is kinda discolored, darker in some parts while lighter in some areas, what do I do? What can I use to get rid off suntan as soon as possible
Skin dryness problem??
A moisturizing face cream with SPF 15 or better.

To get rid of the sun tan, possibly spend less time in the sun.

use almond oil to massage on your face to get rid of dryness.

leave it after massaging for a couple of mins. then wash it off w/ a mild cleanser.
Skin dryness problem??
i dont know

To get rid of the sun tan, possibly spend less time in the sun; you can also try a body lotion that gradually tans the skin without using the sun.

Reply:For your delicate eye area, I use Arbonne's NutriMinC RE9 Repair, Corrective Eye Cream. It really moisturizes the delicate area around the eyes. Also, you don't mention your age, but the whole Arbonne NutriMin C RE9 skin care line and the Arbonne Before Sun skin care line is really beneficial in helping sun-damaged skin. Also, they have a line of skin care called Arbonne Intelligence; one of the products in that line is called Arbonne Intelligence Skin Conditioning Oil...which works great on really dry areas of skin, it contains pecan oil, avocado oil, hazel seed oil and other botanical oils. Is it possible for a female to keep her skin so youthful and flawless if she smokes?

I wonder how an actress like Scarlet Johanson keeps her skin youthful and flawless since she smokes.

I don't smoke or do anything that could harm my skin. But my skin has shone signs of aging (like lines under my eyes and wrinkles on my face) and I'm only 22. I think it's the result of sun damage from all these years.
Is it possible for a female to keep her skin so youthful and flawless if she smokes?
lol, well..Celeberties get the best of everything so..That probably has something to do with it. But i'm sure with time, you'll start seeing some somking side effects.

As for your problem..Yeah, you're probably right about the sun damage thing. About 80 percent of sun damage is caused before the age of 18.

And keep on non-smoking! ;p

If you had Hollywood makeup folks at your beck and call, you'd be all set too.
Reply:yeah very possible for anyone

Take rich diet

consult some good nutrition expert

for line under your eyes put some milk cream everyday.

it helped mine frnd a lot

may be can useful for u also
Reply:Good Question: The problem is that it is a difficult one to answer. Sun damage is much worse than smoking. I have put cream on my face for 40 years, every day without fail. I do not have deep line or wrinkles and I am nearly an OAP and I smoke.

Please try to protect yourself whilst in the sun. Use a high factor at least a 30 in this country and 50 when abroad. You will still get a lovely tan but without the damage. I use factor 15 even in spring when I am working in the garden. Good luck.
Reply:She has a lot of money to get botox if she needs to... professional makeup artist. And computers to remove her flaws.
Reply:Yeah she can smoke hell and still be be flawless because she has money to get beauticians to make her look that way.I bet you to take a knife and rip her chest open and then you'll know that she is not okay.
Reply:it's probably sun damage. the people that smoke must get skin stuff that costs like millions of dollars or something. but smoking does damage you're skin when u get older.
Reply:Yes, I'm regretting all the years I laid in the sun as a teenager. I don't smoke but have some wicked crows feet, compliments of no sunscreen or sunglasses and sun worshiping.
Reply:Yes, you can keep your face looking young. You just have to use alot more skin care treatments (even if you don't smoke) than most women in general. When you smoke, your skin is considered "troubled skin." The very most important things to do is use eye cream (w/ spf), moisturize, sleep and drink alot of water on a daily basis. Also do wear sunglassess if possible. The one thing I notice when I smoke.. is my throat gets dry, BUT my body is telling me I'm not thirsty. Smoking will suppress your appetite for the need of hydration! It will make you lose alot of moisture from your face and hydration from inside. So alot of the time, what I would do is..keep a glass/bottle of water next to me before I smoke. To remind myself.. =)

Alot of people look 30 when they're really like twenty, because they make the mistake of not paying attention to their bodies and lack of hydration and just simply taking care of themselves.

I been smoking for 4 years and people tell me I look 16. =D

So.. yeah I'm alittle happy about that (lol)
Reply:Ok hun, I'm an actor and for me my face and body are my job.

I'm also a surfing addict, so I've been out in the sun pretty much all my life, i'm 26 now and I get carded to buy scratch off tix..lol..anyways, here are the best tips I have gotten from industry people through the years, and at an affordable price.

if you keep smoking, and I hope you won't because it's nasty and it causes lung cancer, just make sure you are drinking lots of water everyday, use spf face cream after your shower, and before you go to bed...but the best thing I can tell you, and it has taken off yrs off my face is this...3 times a week, I wash my face with dove soap and warm water to open up my pores, after i'm done, I'll grab three ice cubes and rub them in a circular motion all over my face until they are completely melted...it's kinda cold at first but you'll get over that, beleive me hun, my face has never looked healthier and younger, by the time you are 50, you will look 30, trust me...it gets me young roles..I play 17 yr olds..thats my secret, now you have it..try it, you'll be happy with the results....
Reply:no

dont smoke
Reply:a big portion of celebrities' paychecks go to overall beauty maintenance because it's needed for the job.. otherwise, people won't patronize them if they get blemished or overweight.. so i'm sure what needs to be done to keep smooth skin is always handy..

for smokers who can't keep up with that kinda maintenance, simply take a minimum dose of 1000mg of vitamin C daily. :-)
Reply:Makeup!

I would put some moisturizing cream on your face every day with a bit of sun protection on it. My mom does that, and her skin is very youthful for a 46 year old who tans and smokes.
Reply:If you are trying to reduce wrinkles, try to check out lifecell.

I've been using LifeCell for two months and I must say that I'm really happy with the results because I can see that my wrinkles start disappearing.

The reason LIfecell work so well is because LifeCell provides Acetyl Hexapeptides 鈥?3, also found in upscale creams like Est茅e Lauder Perfectionist [CP+] which is used to interrupt the cycle of irritation that creates wrinkles.

However Lifecell is bit pricey though.. it's $189.00 per bottle and it reflects the use of these expensive affective ingredients.

The beauty of LifeCell Anti-Aging is that you can take advantage of a try it free - pay no money for 30-days, 120-days, double your money back guarantee.

Swollen under the toenail?

I am used to ingrown nails/toenails because I get them all the time, so I know how to take care of them. But this time I had my middle toe nail getting very swollen. I cut the part that seemed to be bothering the skin but it wasn't going away. Next day it was swollen all around the nail and I even could see white collor underneath it, which I never had before. I cut it again and eventually it went away. Only the problem was the swollen under my nail eventually disattached my nail from the skin and now I am hoping my nail will get back. I heard that you are supposed to get your nail drilled to release the swollen but since I didn't have much pain and it was so quick, I didn't go to see the doctor. My toe looks healthy and fine and I keep a bandage on it. Did anyone have a similar experience? Anything I can do to prevent from swollening underneath again? Dont get me wrong. I didn't wait for days to go away. The swollen happened overnight and now I have to wait months to get a nail back.
Swollen under the toenail?
I had a similar thing happen from trail running. My second toe hit the front of my shoe too much on the downhill parts. Anyway, that swelling was really like a water-filled blister. I used a sterilized needle and pierced and drained the blister for a few days until it went away completely. Most of the pain I felt was related to the upward pressure on my nail from the blister. Unfortunately, I ended up losing the toenail and kept a Band-Aid over it until it was healed (and until I began to get new toenail growth). Now though, it looks fine and you would not be able to tell that my toe went through such drama!
Swollen under the toenail?
oh i m sorry 2 hear bout it, hope it gets betta, doz it hurtalot??
Reply:ow that's sad girl I hope it works out for ya I feel your pain I get ingrown toenails alot from cutting them to short hope it grows quickly
Reply:Looks like you got the area infected and need a short course of antibiotics. I have seen this a lot when people try to treat their own toenails and dig underneath the nail bed or into the skin. This allows the bacteria to get in and make the toe swollen and infected. If you really are suffering from chronic ingrown toenails, you should go see a podiatrist who fix them for you for good so you don't have suffer with them. As a general rule, don't mess with the skin or go underneath the nail as that can damage the nail and in your case lose the nail because of the infection. It'll grow back, but in the future, please go see a doctor. I'd hate for you to pick up a fungus or get chronic infections of your toe. Hope this helps!

Dry winter skin 鈥?recommend moisturizer w/sunscreen?

By the end of the day, my face is clearly zapped of moisture. Last year at this time, I blamed my dry face on being the Southwest (dry climate), but I鈥檓 home in MO this year and it鈥檚 back so I realize it鈥檚 just me.

In the morning, I wash my face with St. Ives Sensitive Apricot Scrub and use Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock under my makeup, and Murad Anti-Acne Facewash and Skin Perfecting Lotion at night. I鈥檝e tried using the Murad lotion %26amp; Neutrogena Sunscreen in the morning, but my face ends up greasy. Last year, I gave something from Korres a try (don鈥檛 know the name, but it came in a jar), but that didn鈥檛 work either. I also tried switching from the Murad anti-acne to the Murad combination facewash because it鈥檚 less drying. Still not enough.

My skin is sensitive and lots of products make me itch and break out. I drink tons of water every day, but I can鈥檛 seem to find a morning product. Any ideas?
Dry winter skin 鈥?recommend moisturizer w/sunscreen?
OMG! I had this problem too (weird, I also use Murad facial stuff and Neutrogena moisturizer)!!!

Here's what I did:

1) Even though I had some mild acne, I stopped using treatments for a week and sued only cleanser and moisturizer at night. (my skin actually cleared up a bit too!)

2) I used Neutrogena Visibly Even moisturizer with SPF 15 in it, and used a foundation primer (even on days where I didn't wear foundation it still smooths skin).

3) Drink plenty of water and exfoliate the dead skin regularly (if your skin is really flakey do it every night or every other night, try Noxzema Daily Exfoliating Cleanser it works great for getting rid of dead skin)

Good luck! Dry skin sucks!!!!!!!!!

I have the same thing. I find that Vaseline white petroleum jelly is best.

Reply:Try Aveeno products. They have a daytime moisture w/spf that I put on after I wash my face and before and sometimes even after make up. It leaves your face super soft and all there products are for sensitive skin
Reply:Curel. LOVE IT and so does everyone I have ever recommended it to. I use it on my face and body.
Reply:try something with oatmeal which works as a natural itchy skin relief, like Aveeno Daily moisturizer..as far as an SPF you can always mix it in with the lotion.

Other good winter itch creams are Gold Bond, Sarna and Eucerin
Reply:Good old Oil of Olay. It's SPF 15 and has a sensitive version.

Reply:There's this body lotion that I've been using for quite some time now and I really like it. It's from Avon, Moisture Therapy body lotion for extremely dry skin. It's a white bottle with blue cap and blue letters. I use it all over my body. If you don't know of an Avon rep you can go to avon.com and see all their skin products. My sister uses several of them and she really likes them. Except in her case it's oily skin not dry like mine.

I'm even using it on my tummy right now that I'm pregnant to help with the stretch marks........so far ...none!
Reply:Clinique's yellow lotion works wonders. It's called Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. They've been selling it for decades. It's a tried and true formula that works wonders. They call it a moisture "drink" for your skin. Try it!!! It's amazing!
Reply:I'm not sure which one is the best, but don't use vaseline - it will make you break out badly if you have sensitive skin.
Reply:Clinique and Estee Lauder have sensitive skin lines if that's something you would like to choose. They are a little pricier, but you only have one face, so you might as well take care of it.

Otherwise I have heard that Aveeno might be nice as well.

I've lost fingernails before and they grew back. I think the swelling was probably a one time thing. Maybe an ingrown nail that got infected.

Are there any doctors who can help? Black, ashy substance coming from skin and fingernails (no its not dirt!)

I hope I don't get a lot of insulting answers on this one, please. I am looking for only serious replies. I do not have health insurance now and need to know whether this is something I should be concerned about - for the past two weeks, I have noticed a black ash of some sort being secreted from under nails and on certain parts of the skin. I do not notice any other symptoms except for fatigue. Do any persons with medical backgrounds have any idea what it might be? Thanks so much!

I'm not a medically qualified person unfortunately...I have seen similar symptoms in a friend who has kidney disease. It's impossible to say without professional advice, please do get it checked out asap.

Why is my skin so dry?

When i have foundation and then some powder on it , my skin shows off som dry peeling skin off . if u now what i mean . I try to rubb it off , but it wnould go off . and i have som lotion or something under the foundation so that the dry and peeling skin does not shows off , but it does not works either
Why is my skin so dry?
i used to suffer with the same thing, i still do from time to time, i do drin plenty of water but doesnt seem to do anything, exfoliasting is the best way forward, not just that alone though, i found i had to buy a more oil based foundation, the ones with the high sun factor are great to use... if you cant get your hands on one, why not try using vasiline.... not too much tho as this will have the adverse affect. a tiny amount about the size of a pea rub together in your hands to warm through for easy spreading, making sure you rub into the skin like a mini massage, then apply the foundation...... moisturise your face at nigt before going to sleep also...... the cold waether can make your skin dry out.

i hope this helps
Why is my skin so dry?
you need to exfoliate for one thing, invest in some Buff Puffs.

for another you don't drink enough water, the body needs two liters a day to function efficiently, that means hydrating the skin as well.
Reply:After exfoliating, use a good moisturizer. Also, try using a moisturizing foundation and skip the powder. That works for me.

It is important to drink plenty of water, and I believe that certain oily foods help to keep our skin in better condition (like salmon and nuts.) You might want to try to add a few of these to your diet every week.
Reply:Lack of vitamin intake can definately be a reason for your dry skin. I found a great vitamin that might help you out.

Dry skin is a common problem, particularly during the winter months when it is cold outside and artificial heat is used indoors. The harsh outside weather combined with the lack of humidity indoors makes it hard for your skin to stay moist. Certain activities, such as gardening, can also dry out the skin. In addition, using harsh soaps or bathing too often can wash away your skin鈥檚 natural moisture.

Best Moisturizing Foundation for Dry Skin?

What is the best Moisturizering foundation for dry skin.?

I have really really dry skin even if i use moisturizing cream it under my makeup it doesnt help.

Please list some good brand nothing too expensive.

Thanks In Advance.
Best Moisturizing Foundation for Dry Skin?
The best Moisturizing cream I use is Johnson's Softlotion 24 hour moisture. Out of all the other creams I use this one is the best.
Best Moisturizing Foundation for Dry Skin?
I use Vaseline Intensive Care for Very dry Skin its in a yellow bottle
Reply:From Epinions: "If you are skin is really dry use a creamy moisturizing foundation such has Maybelline's Smooth Result Makeup, Mac's Full Coverage, Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20,Hard Candy's Hint Tint and Bobbi Brown's Moisture Rich Foundation SPF 15 and Models Prefer Perfect Match Moisturizing Make Up." They also suggest that you apply a cream or a balm if you have extremely dry skin. I would also recommend a very moisturizing, non-drying cleanser, such as the very gentle and inexpensive Ponds Cold Cream, which does not strip skin and actually adds moisture. I would also sleep with a heavy-duty night cream such as Burt's Bee's Night Cream, or I also LOVE Oil of OIay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment. I also have extremely dry skin, and since I live in New England, I find that I have to be very careful to moisturize, but I was also very impressed by the results I got with the addition of the Regenerist line, and by using Ponds Cold Cream regularly.

As far as the foundations, I have heard extremely excellent things about the Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier lines, which are the brands of choice for many makeup artists, and I think the Maybelline is great extremely inexpensive choice as well. Hope this helps! Take care! :-)

Reply:I also have really really dry skin, and I use Bare Essentials Mineral Makeup. I was skeptical at first, because it is a powder, but I love it!!!! My skin tone is more even, also it doesn't further dry or break out my face.

In addition to using this make up I wash my face at night and moisturize with olive oil and a spritz of glycerin and in the morning rinse my face with warm water and use a moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid (I prefer Sephora Brand FACE Moisturizing Cream - Dry Skin it contains -Shea Butter, -Lotus Extract, -Pro-Vitamin B5, -Hyaluronic Acid, -Borage Oil, and -Vitamin E). Also, I exfoliate 2-3 times a week with C.O. Bigelow Brown Sugar Scrub and apply a moisturizing mask either the C.O. Bigelow Sea Weed Mask or an Olive Oil Mask.

Needless to say this is a hefty combination, but it seems to work for me. Also, I know you asked about foundation, but this skincare combo + the natural coverage from the Bare Essentials Mineral Makeup is working wonders for me and has no chemicals (another major benefit for those of us suffering from very dry skin).

I HAD REALLY FRIED OUT SKIN AFTER THE KIDS WEE BORN USED IT ALL NO LUCK AND I ACTUALLY TRIED AN BRAND CALLED CUREL IT'S BODY LOTION- CALLED AGE DEFYING AND FIRM- DAMM IT WORKED WONDERS. NOW I AM BACK TO MY NORM AND WITH OIL OF OLAY. I USE THE AGE DEYING ON THAT IT ALSO ACTS AS AN EXFOLIANT AND HELPS. OIL OF OLAY HAS BEEN USED IN MY FAMILY SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL AND I AM 36 NOW.

Can anyone tell me whether you would be able to see a white corset and stockings under a white wedding dress?

I have heard a lot of people say that skin colour undergarments are best to wear under a white wedding dress.. i really want to wear white becasue i think it is a bit more traditional. My dress is a few hours away so i havent had the chance to try it on with my white corset... can any brides help me? Will it show obviously?
Can anyone tell me whether you would be able to see a white corset and stockings under a white wedding dress?
It depends on the dress. Wear a white bra when you try it on and you will see. With casual clothes it is always best to wear beige of flesh colored underwear to keep from showing through white pants and skirts, but wedding dresses have so much structure, it would depend on the dress.

With the stockings you can always switch to cream or beige if the lower part is sheer. Ultra sheer stockings will tend to show less, as they have less Lycra and are more transparent. They are also more elegant and feminine and traditional.
Can anyone tell me whether you would be able to see a white corset and stockings under a white wedding dress?
I wore white under mine and there was no problem. I think it lies within the thickness of the dress, but everyone I know wore white under their's bc it is traditional. I do not think it will show at all.
Reply:I doubt it. Wedding dresses are usually pretty thick so it isn't see through. You shouldn't be able to see anything under the dress unless it's a cheap see through kind
Reply:It depends on what type of material the dress is made of but every wedding dress ad always has white under garments ~~
Reply:No, go ahead and wear white!! It doesn't show, and if you wear skin-coloured ones it'll contrast to the dress and look REALLY REALLY fake!!

My sister wore white stockings to her wedding(worried and fretted to a very great extent) and the worry was all for naught. She looked great! As will you!!!

Anyhoos, I hope you have a great wedding!!
Reply:No it will not show. I had a white bra and underwear. No one saw anything under my dress.
Reply:No, your corset and stockings will not show under your wedding dress UNLESS your wedding dress is a see-through type dress.
Reply:I dont see why it would show....white on white seems fine....better than white on skin color. .if anything I'd think you'd see skin color through the white dress.
Reply:Go ahead and where white. Even the thinnest dresses usually are lightly lined so yuo can't see it anyway. And even if people do see, who cares?! It's your wedding, enjoy it.
Reply:Most wedding dresses are made of either a thick enuf material or layers of material so that nothing shows underneath. I am planning on a sexy bustier outfit with garter and hose to surprise my husband on our wedding night as he helps me out of my dress. Congrats.
Reply:it would depend on the dress and corset, if you are quite concerned I would recommend you taking the corset to try on the dress. You should do this anyway as a corset can/will alter how your clothes fit.

Combonatrion Skin?

I like too stay very matte all day, I'm buying MAC studio stick concealer along with studio fix powder, I get super oily and greasy on my nose and have pretty dried out skin on my cheeks, but I have that under control, do I need a primer to stay matte all day?
Combonatrion Skin?
I use the MAC primer, and it does give foundation that extra to stay true all day. I have combination skin, but not too oily in T-zone, so I use HyperReal liquid with spf.
Combonatrion Skin?
wut kind of skin?
Reply:do you mean combination skin?

Reply:You just need to balance your skin chemistry. The Papaya products from bee luscious can correct that and you will have a great complexion.

Good concealer for sensitive skin?

I have pretty sensitive skin, but I naturally have really dark circles under my eyes. Concealer is the only makeup I wear, but I've been searching for one for years that doesn't make my skin itch. I've tried Physicians Formula, Almay, Neurtrogena, Clinique, Cover Girl, Maybelline, Rimmel, Max Factor-- and everything makes my undereyes itch. Is there anything else anywhere that might work better? I've heard about water-based makeup. What's the deal?
Good concealer for sensitive skin?
it sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to something in the product. it may be a dye. but its hard to know. if you have a sephora near you tell the people in skincare NOT cosmetics that you have very senstive skin and reactions to makeup. they may be able to give you somehting that will actually treat your undereye circles and not just cover them up.

undereye circles mean you have blood that is trapped there and is not circulating properly. some products can actually promote blood circulation and decrease circles.

there are also a few makeup lines that are good for people with highly senstive skin

To use skins with Yahoo! Messenger 7.5 and 8.0, just go to the 'Messenger' drop down field, click on 'Change Skin', and select one of the skins in the drop down field.

To get more skins, follow these instructions:

-Download WinZip from www.winzip.com if you do not already have this program

-Go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/feat_skins.ph...

-Click 'Download' next to the skin you want

-Select all of the .bmp files that appear (click on the top file, hold down the shift key, scroll to the bottom, and click on the last file)

-Click 'Extract'

-Select 'Local Disk (C:)

-Click 'Extract'

-Now go to the 'Messenger' drop down field in Yahoo! Messenger

-Select 'Change Skin'

-Select the new skin from the drop down field

-Click 'Ok'

Skin condition?

What is a skin condition that looks like a sunburn and under the eyes seems relatively unaffected. So it looks like the person wore sunglasses and got a slight sunburn. This condition starts with an E I believe. but I don't know
Skin condition?
Is it just on the face on the apples of the cheeks? Rosacea is one that comes to mind.

Eczema???

Skin problem?

I have an area of skin that extends from mid-upper back, down under my arm, to the side of my right breast, that is all of a sudden very, very sensitive. It almost hurts to touch and feels hot to the touch. There is no redness, rash, scratches or pimples, that would explain this. Has anyone ever has anything like this? Any ideas?

Thanks!
Skin problem?
I know it may seem really stupid of me to say, but you're sure it's not a fever? ...Just saying. :P Because whenever I have a fever, my skin becomes extremely sensitive and it sort of hurts to touch, etc. etc.

It's probably not that, but t'was just a suggestion. ;]
Skin problem?
It would depend how long it has been like this, if it has only just started, keep an eye on it, if you have been in contact with anyone with chicken pox, you could be getting shingles. This usually only occurs in one area of the body, if it is shingles, and your symptoms have only just started, you will soon enough get some sort of rash, try not to scratch, and keep area as cool as possible. Visit your gp.

Hope this may be of some help
Reply:im a dermatologist and i have seen this in many of my patients. the reaction may be from your deodorant. have you switched brands lately? :)

A skin problem?

a couple of months ago, i started having flaky and itchy skin on patches of my scalp, and pretty much everywhere else i have hair, like under-arm. my dad said that those patches of skin has a darker color than my normal skin. i used a medication called "clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate cream", and it worked well, but when i stop, the itching would come back.

i'm a swimmer, and i wash my hair everyday, can someone tell me what this condition is, and what's the best way to treat it?
A skin problem?
Hi Feb

Does sound like eczema and here are some ideas on how to heal it.

Cause

Eczema is often called Dermatitis, and may be a symptom of an omega-3 fatty acid deficiency. Eczema can be due to allergies, allergies secondary to digestive disorders such as hydrochloric acid deficiency, rashes secondary to immune diseases, genetic metabolic disorders, and/or nutritional deficiencies, especially of niacin (vitamin B3) and B6, as well as other B vitamins.

To minimize your risk of developing eczema, avoid irritating substances, wear natural nonirritating materials, use soothing ointments, and check to see if dietary, nutritional, and/or and allergy-causing factors need to be considered.

--------------------------------------...

Natural Cures

Aromatherapy: Bergamot, chamomile, lavender, melissa, neroli, eucalyptus, geranium, and/or juniper can help speed healing and relief of symptoms when applied topically to the affected areas.

Diet: Eat an organic, whole foods diet and avoid potentially allergy-causing foods, especially sugar, wheat, milk, and dairy products, including yogurt. Also avoid excess consumption of fruit, especially citrus and sour, as these foods may aggravate symptoms.

Flower Essences: Rescue Remedy庐 for accompanying stress, and Rescue Remedy Cream庐 on the affected areas.

Herbs: Herbal remedies such as cleavers, nettle, yellowdock, or red clover tea or tinctures may be very effective. They are often combined with relaxing herbs such as chamomile, linden flowers, or skullcap. One combination would be equal parts of cleavers, nettle, and chamomile drunk as an infusion three times a day. A stronger mixture combines the tinctures of figwort, burdock, and cleavers in equal parts; take one teaspoon of this mixture three times a day.

To alleviate itching, bathe affected areas of your body with lukewarm or cold chickweed infusion. For cracked, dry, or painful skin, use a salve made from calendula flowers and St. John`s wort leaves.

Goldenseal applied externally may also be helpful.

Homeopathy:Dulcamara, Rhus tox., Sulfur, Arsen alb., and Graphites, taken alone or in combination with each other can help speed healing. Petroleum and Psorinum are also effective homeopathic remedies, but must be taken alone.

Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold temperatures to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of hot and/or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used in the home as part of a self-care program. Many Naturopathic Physicians, Physical Therapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment. I suggest several at-home hydrotherapy treatments.

Juice Therapy: The following juice combinations can help speed healing: black currant and red grapes; carrot, beet, spinach, cucumber, and parsley; and wheat grass juice.

Nutritional Supplementation: Vitamin A and GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), an omega-6 essential fatty acid found in high quantities in evening primrose oil, have both been shown to improve the symptoms of eczema. Vitamin E. Other useful supplements for preventing and reversing eczema include vitamin B complex, vitamin B6, vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc.

Topical Treatment: Apply evening primrose oil directly to cracked and sore areas of the skin. A topical paste made from ginkgo and licorice root extract has also been shown to improve eczema symptoms.

Alternative Professional Care

If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating and relieving the symptoms of eczema: Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Biofeedback Training, Bodywork (Acupressure, Shiatsu, Reflexology), Detoxification Therapy, Energy Medicine (Light Beam Generator, Ondamed, Photon Stimulator), Environmental Medicine, Hypnotherapy, Magnetic Field Therapy (North Pole Magnetic Energy Application), Mind/Body Medicine, Naturopathic Medicine, Orthomolecular Medicine, Osteopathy, and Oxygen Therapy

just consult that to a dermatologist before it will get worst, so that they can give you the proper medication!

we can not tell what kind of skin problem is that unless we see it actual!
Reply:sounds like eczema.

your probally dry from the chlorine.

you need a very good body moisterizer, and conditioner.
Reply:cradle cap. I have eczema bad and cc(cradle cap). Ive tried EVERYTHING!!!! But i don't know about you. Go to your doc

I have this strange involuntary compulsion to stick sharps things under my fingernails. why?

for some reason I constantly subconciously compelled to stick things under my fingernails. I always fold up pieces of paper or bits of cloth and stick them under my fingernails to the point where the skin gets really red and pushed back and sometimes starts to bleed. I don't know if this is just some weird quirk or if other people have this same thing. I find it kind of disturbing but truly cannot help myself and have been doing it for as long as I can remember.

thanks :)

Yes, that is a mental health issue like cutting yourself. Please see a doc. okay? Email me for more info.

i think the chinese used to torture people that way. are you chinese?
Reply:ouch, maybe you have obsessive compulsive disorder, or do you get a high from inflicting pain on yourself?
Reply:nothing wrong with alittle pain to help you thru the day.sounds as though you need a little pain management from a master or mistress.it could lead to an interesting lifestyle, maybe worth looking into.......
Reply:I used to do that quite often. I bite my fingernails, but I used to do it if I had the white at the end of the nails. I would fold paper and poke it up under the nails. I think it was a way for me to keep clearing out and making the white ends look bigger, which would make my nails look longer.

Nothing wrong with it at all .... it's normal.
Reply:Sounds like an OCD thing. I do that too, but not to the point of actually breaking the skin (I hate when it does happen). I also peel my hands a lot and have a ton of other things I do.

What is the best I can do for my son's skin?

Eczema

Scientists believe that eczema is inherited, so there's no way to prevent the condition. However, because specific triggers may tend to make it worse, flare-ups can be prevented or improved by avoiding possible triggers such as:

pollen

mold

dust

animal dander

dry winter air with little moisture

allowing the skin to become too dry

certain harsh soaps and detergents

certain fabrics (such as wool or coarsely woven materials)

certain skin care products, perfumes, and colognes (particularly those that contain alcohol)

tobacco smoke

some foods (Which foods may be eczema triggers depends on the person, but dairy products and acidic foods like tomatoes seem to be common culprits.)

emotional stress

excessive heat

sweating

Also, curbing the tendency to scratch the rash can prevent the condition from worsening and progressing to cause more severe skin damage or secondary infection.

Aveeno has great products to help with eczema. Check out this link

go to the doctors and ask for a prescription
Reply:something natural with no chemicals.
Reply:didn't your DR. tell you what to do? Consult him/her.
Reply:use hypoallergenic baby soaps, laundry soaps....

instead of lotion apply olive oil for babies in your child's skin... thats what i did to my son when he was 3 months old he had red dry skin on his cheeks... then the pedia told me to purchase olive oil for babies...it worked!
Reply:Its called Eczema. Coal tar solution works well. Elidel is a prescription product that we use for it.

Hey Nibblet I've got news for you ... all natural products contain chemicals. Just thought you should know.
Reply:Use soaps that have no perfumes or coloring, dye. Mostly you will just have to try different things till you find one he can tolerate.
Reply:I believe you are referring to Eczema, do a quick little search online and you will find a lot of information on it. How old is your son? Could be restrictions if he is very young, try things with aloe vera, it is a natural moisturizer. Good Luck!
Reply:eczema- eveeno has some great things for skin problems, even for babies. Here's the website.

Reply:Eczema, there is alot of products out there for it, there is creams and soaps you can find in the baby isle, also use the baby laundry soap that doesnt have the additives baby soft or ivory snow are good,

aveeno products are really good as well, drug stores also have alotof products for this, if the eczema is really bad your doctor can usually prescribe you a cortizone cream that is good for it. Also watch the baby around sand, all of my kids have eczema and i found in the summer time when they were playing in the sandbox, this made the eczema worse

after every bath i would rub the creams all over thier bodies

they also sell an oatmeal bath made by aveeno that is good
Reply:hydrocortisone cream and cocoa butter will help those patches. tell him to stay moisturized a lot.

arm %26amp; hammer has a detergent that i really like that's free of any harmful chemicals. i've found it to be the best, most legitimate "pure" detergent for the cheapest price.
Reply:Eczema, possibly? I have a friend with it and she can only use things made for sensitive skin, and definately nothing that has vitamin E in it! She also uses a prescription strength hydrocortisone cream when her skin is dry or is starting to break out. The hydrocortisone cream would be best for the itchy red patches. You can get a lower strength over the counter (ask the pharmacist) but see your doctor about it and he can prescribe you the higher one.
Reply:I think you are talking about excema. Has your son's pediatrician taken a look at it? If not, they probably should. Excema is often caused by harsh soaps, dried milk, spit up, or food on the face and in the neck crease, and also by rough fabric rubbing against the skin. When my son had it I washed his face (GENTLY!!!) every night and put a little 1% hydrocortisone cream on it right after washing. When you're washing, do it very gently and pat dry with a soft cloth. Keeping the skin moisturized also helps. Use a very mild soap, like Head to Toe baby wash from Johnson and Johnson. And remember to wash baby's laundry in fragrance-free and dye-free detergent. Many women use Dreft, but Tide, All, and Cheer make mild detergents as well.
Reply:It sounds like your son has eczema. My son had this when he was 6 months old and thankfully out grew it. The Dermatologist had me use a oatmeal bar for bath soap, and to oil his body down with any baby oil after each bath. I used a very mild laundry soap, sorry I can't remember the name of the soap right now. But, if you use a laundry soap that does not have any perfumes in it and do a double rinse cycle will work. I couldn't use any fabric softener, liquid or dryer sheets. The important thing is to keep lotion or oil on his little body as much as possible and stay away from soaps with perfume which is what irritates sensitive skin.

ADDITION: Dreft Laundry soap! That's what I used! Thanks Debi G! I have good reason to not remember. My little baby is now 43 years old! :)
Reply:sounds like eczema. I work for Healthy Families America which focuses on babies and children. We have been taught that the best laundry detergent for babies and kids is DREFT.

It is supposed to be great for a couple of reasons... it has no chemicals so it doesn't aggravate allergies and there are no irritants. It has no smell but it leaves clothes clean and soft. It is also recommended because it doesn't wash out the fire retardant found in many baby clothes. All of the other detergents wash it out and the clothes are no longer fire proof.
Reply:if anyone could recomend a product it would be a highly qualified licenced dermatoliges intented to work and have the knowledge of all types of skin.they work on skin every day so i suggest you see one soon as poosible, they would give you a better answer then any of us here .WARNING do not use any products people here have suggested it may cause more harm then good (no offece to the people of yahoo answers) but its a person not a piece of equipment.
Reply:I suffer from Eczema and it can be very itchy. I can imagine how it makes a baby feel. Its okay to use regular baby soaps, because they are so mild. Go to the store and purchase a cream called Aquaphilic ointment it comes in a white jar.......apply it 3 times daily. It will help your childs skin clear up. It is totaly safe.....I even use it on my children especially in the winter!!! If this does not help you will have to get a prescription ointment from your doctor, but they do contain steriods. Hope this helps!!! Please get the Aquaphilic trust me!!!
Reply:My daughter has ezcema also. I use Cetaphil soap and mosturizing cream on her. It seems to help her really well. My sister in law uses Dove body wash on her kids and they have ezcema also. She says that works well for them. We also have an antibotic for anytime she gets a spot that will not go away. You should probably talk with your son's doctor, he/she could probably prescribed something right away to help. You could use Dreft for his clothes or any of the detergents that are free of perfume and dyes would work. My daughter's doctor said not to use lotion, always use cream because cream mosturizes better than lotion.
Reply:We love the Burt's Bee's Baby Bee line. We all have *well had* eczema and the Apricot oil and Buttermilk lotions really helps with the dryness and itchiness associated with it.

Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent is Phthalate free, and so is the California Baby line of shampoos and cleansers.

While many dermatologists might recommend other 'adult' lotions, many of those have phthalates which has been shown to be harmful in studies.

Good Luck with your search!

Is skin peeling on baby red eared slider normal?

Well basically there's a spot on my baby turtles's shell that looks like the skin is peeling off. I took a peek under it to see if it's some sort of shell rot or not and have not noticed anything. The shell looks normal underneath the white patch of skin. I was just wondering is this type of thing normal or should I get it treated even though it doesn't look like it's infected or anything.
Is skin peeling on baby red eared slider normal?
Your baby is growing so that's good. Whatever you do don't pull it off as it will come off on its own.
Is skin peeling on baby red eared slider normal?
yup..it's normal. My nephews and nieces have it before.
Reply:If it is on the shell then it is completly normal, on the skin it is probably a skin infection
Reply:Your turtle is just growing. It's called molting. It is very normal. You will notice it more and more as your turtle gets bigger.
Reply:perfectly normal. its part of their growing up. eventually it will stop peelin. u might even see them trying to bit off the peeled skin

Under my nose I have really dry chapped skin and it peels and it just looks gross. Well not that bad. I just want the ph balance restored anyone know of any really good lotion. I already have Aveeno.
Anything that can help with dry chapped skin?
shea butter, man made chemical products may add to the problem
Anything that can help with dry chapped skin?
I use stuff like for chapped lips on that area sometimes. I would get something like carmex or lip medex in that area at night.
Reply:Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin.Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/

Good face moisturizer to use under foundation in the uk?

good face moisturizer to use under foundation in the uk.i have normal skin
Good face moisturizer to use under foundation in the uk?
I agree - Oil of Olay w/SPF 15. It is light so that the "oils" don't interfere with the foundation. I have tried many high-end products and nothing is better.

Oil of Olay all the way all the time with spf 15.

Reply:Loreal is great with Boswelox which help keep wrinkles away at same time.

There's always some offer on for reduced price.
Reply:Not one that is too oily as you will find that foundation wont last long. Use one suitable for you skin type and remeber that all the expensive ones are made from the same ingredients as the cheap ones. Tescos do a good one with sea minerals
Reply:Oil of olay its not too greasy and absorbs really quick, as for looking younger who knows.
Reply:you should try some of lush products they are all natural and they have stuff for every skin type why not have a look on there website lush.com

Try It, you'll get a nice and good feeling when using it..Good Luck
Reply:Olay is good and if you're on a budget. However if you've more to spend then Eve Lom is a great product. It's quite pricey but lasts for ages. Alternatively you could buy the 'trial size' pack or travel pack that they do to see if you like the products before spending out on full size tubs.
Reply:The BEST moisturiser is Aveeno. You can get it in Boots now I think. Otherwise go to a Chemist and ask for it. It has colloidal oatmeal in it, very gentle on the skin, can even be used on babies. It really hydrates your skin. You can apply in the morning and don't need to reapply all day. I use this on my face, I use it on my children. I should be on commission for Aveeno, because I tell everyone about it. But it is BRILLIANT.

Is there any way to stop tanned skin peeling?

i get quite tanned on holiday but once im home a week or so it starts to peel and under it i am left with my normal skin colour. this looks terrible. is there anyway i can prevent peeling?

Thanks x
Is there any way to stop tanned skin peeling?
no i am sorry.

you see when we tan this means that our skin is getting old because of all this sun hitting on it.

if your skin gets old then your organism has to get rid of this old skin. and this why it peels.

so now you pick if you want to get burned in the sun and then peel and have to colors on your skin or if you put sun lotion to protect you from this.

it is your choice.
Is there any way to stop tanned skin peeling?
keep it moisturized..in my opinion the best way to do that is to keep cocoa butter on ur skin
Reply:Put lots of moisturizer on your skin...Morning and night.
Reply:its prolly peeling cuz u got sunburned b4 try using better sunscreen
Reply:use aloe vera gel, It will stop your skin from peeling and sooth the peeling skin.
Reply:Moisturize!!

before you tan, after you tan, and everytime you get out of the shower.

slather on lotion!

Skin cancer??

ok well i have these small tiny bumps on my arms.they are really tiny and are white in colour at the tip.these bumps have been around for about 3 weeks now. could it just be dry skin cuz i play alot of outdoor sports under the sun?.or could it be a start of skin cancer?
Skin cancer??
It sounds like you have clogged pores on your arms. That's whats causing the white colors at the tips. Exfoliate your arms daily.
Skin cancer??
Don't sound like it, but if it really worries you, see a doctor.
Reply:It depends on your immune system but If I wer u just go to a doctor for proper check-up and thats all I can say. ;)
Reply:indications of cancers are usually large, dark, misshapened moles

They sometimes resemble sores that will not heal %26amp; change shapes.

If they contain white dots within them (Keratin Pearls) the mole is benign (non-cancerous) but a dermatologist would have to assess this since it is difficult to tell with an untrained eye

If you are truely worried, see your family physician and he/she will have to referred you to a local derm.
Reply:We can't see them, so it is best to go to the doctor and see what they have to say.

If you look at a very sharp needle under a microscope, will it appear flat?

Imagine that there is a very very sharp needle, the sharpest in the world. it is so fine and pointy that if you touch it, it will pierce the skin. If you look at it under a microscope, will the ultra sharp needle appear to be flat or still sharp?
If you look at a very sharp needle under a microscope, will it appear flat?
It depend on your microscope's magnification and on your needle's sharpness!
If you look at a very sharp needle under a microscope, will it appear flat?
neither.

more than likely, somewhat rounded.

or whatever scrap was left over after sharpening.

and, keep in mind, that such a small tip has little strength, so the first time it touched anything, it would deform the tip.
Reply:Rounded.
Reply:It would appear just as flat as it does under a magnifying glass when looking with one eye closed. It will look less flat in a binocular microscope. It doesn't take a sharp needle to pierce skin. The probe in an atomic force microscope has a radius of curvature measured in nanometers, so the tip is only hundreds of atoms. It's not easy to manufacture a smooth surface that small.
Reply:i dnt think it will apear flat i think it will have a cylindrical shape at the tip instead of being flat
Reply:depends on your size if you are bigger than that needle so it will appear round ,but if you are smaller than it so it would be flat.

I seem to get alot of boils under my breasts and between my thighs, any ideas how to avoid them ?

I seem to get alot of boils under / on my breasts and between my thighs. I know they are associated with diabetes but not so in my case. I shower every day, but of course this does not prevent them. They grow hard and painful under the skin, marble sized to walnut size but never come to a head. What is going on and why me ? Thanks.
I seem to get alot of boils under my breasts and between my thighs, any ideas how to avoid them ?
So sorry to hear that you have to go through this. Boils are very painful and I've had them for over 5 years now in the same places you mentioned. In order for them to feel better you'll have to use a warm compress, sit with your legs spread eagle (looks funny but works) or hold your breast up (wherever the boil is) and keep the compress on it. Do that for about 3 days and it should come to a head then pop on its own. Once it does, make sure you have a covering on it because it will make a mess if you don't. That is when the boil will drain and you'll feel relief instantly once that happens.

Although what I wrote above will make it feel better you still need to see a dermatologist for them to give you the proper antibiotics. If you have a "fresh" boil, they can drain it and take a culture to see what type of infection you have. Once the infection is gone then use Hibiclens soap (you can find it in any drug store) it's in a small blue bottle (like peroxide) when you take a shower. I've been using it and haven't had any boils since. Just be careful to only use it from your shoulders down. Use it under your breasts as well so those don't come back.

I hope this information helps. Any other info you might need on the subject feel free to e-mail me. Good Luck to you!!
I seem to get alot of boils under my breasts and between my thighs, any ideas how to avoid them ?
Recurring "boils" in the armpit, groin, inner thighs and butt are a sign of Hidradenitis Suppurativa. You can check out http://www.hs-usa.org for more info. Report It

Reply:Sounds like you need to go get them treated by the doc with antibiotics. Boils like acne are cased by the staph bacteria. Since you get a lot of them you need antibiotics to get the staph bacteria under control so help prevent them.
Reply:OK i also have this problem there are many reasons for this. mine is i am all ways run down and also have polytheistic ovary's. also it can be coursed from being over weight go see your doctor please as they can become dangerous
Reply:I get them between my legs also, and I put baby powder and creme because I thought it came from sweat and heat and I get them because I am overweight by 40lbs and when I lose the weight I don't get them.
Reply:I totally understand what you are going through :( Recurrent boils are super annoying and painful. I get them all the time and so does my daughter. It's common to spread Staph among family members. I even recently had to have one surgically removed. My advice to you (from our doctor): Take bleach baths. You fill the tub halfway with lukewarm water, then add one cup of bleach. Lay in it for 3-5 minutes (be sure not to get any on the face) then wash your entire body with Lever 2000 soap. This only needs to be done every 3-4 days and can be done for as long as a year if necessary. I hope this helps you!!

Dude, this seriously sounds like (from what I could understand) molluscum (don't know that I spelled that right). You should go get a second opinion on that. Seriously. Or it could be some other kind of STD. Molluscum looks like zits and they do the same thing but are VERY contagious. You can get them simply from using a towel that someone who had them used. It's a virus so it can't be cured. It does eventually go away over time. But be warned, and this is why you need a second opinion, because the minute you squeeze the stuff out of them, you spread the virus instantly and will without a doubt get more. Go have it checked. I never have had this but at one point I thought I might have. Go to a dermatolagist.

OMG! I scratched my really bad mark under my lip and i can see a hole?

Well i had a REALLY bad zit under my lip that i popped and got left with a really bad looking mark and i noticed there was still acne in the mark so i pushed and i scratched the bad mark and i saw a black dot in the mark i thought was dirty but it turns out its a hole under the skin i scratched off from the mark...what should i do??? i dont want a scar and i really need my face looking good in a week
OMG! I scratched my really bad mark under my lip and i can see a hole?
I don't think you can do anything to the hole. It will heal on its own, probably before a week. You MIGHT end up with a little scar, but thats all. I hope everything works out with you.
OMG! I scratched my really bad mark under my lip and i can see a hole?
u scratched a HOLE in your face?!!!!

dang... um... you should probably just put some neosporin on it so it doesnt get infected. then just give it time. it will go away eventually. unfortunately, it may take a few weeks to a month depending on how bad it is, but just use some extra concealer. it will be fine.

I have cysts/lumps uner my skin.?

I have probably 10 lumps/cysts under my skin. the biggest on my right leg about half way down my quad is about the size of a quarter, and it feels as if it is split, or has a ridge down in , and that one will get bigger when I work out. The others are about the size of dimes or nickels. 2 are on my leg, 2 on my back, one on my ribs, one on the lower part of my stomach., 1 on my right side...

They all are semi hard and they move a litle. the one on my back(on my ribs) kind of hurts if you push on it...

I am a big guy at 6"4' 280lbs, I am a built guy and i lift a lot, my body fat is around 24%, and I play football, but

What are these?

I had the one on my leg checked and he said it was some sort of cyst?

But does anyone know what these are?
I have cysts/lumps uner my skin.?
I am an Registered Massage Therapist, and our thoughts on these "cysts" are...

1) if it moves great it is when you cant move it that i would be alarmed

2) does it cause you pain to move it? if yes not so great

always check with the doc first, if the doc say no probs then no probs, but yes adipose tissue can form under the skin (i have to on my saccrum which have been there for years, and i have tons of clients that have them, unfortunately if they "the cysts" check out ok, then it is just more of how do they look to me thing then a what are they harming thing :) also a fluid sac sometimes will gather and will need to be drained... fun fun

good luck,

Kasper

What is the best acne treatment for my skin?

i have blotchy skin, even when its clear (that happened mayb once in the past two years.) I have acne in the "t-zone" and on my chest and back- talk about all time GROSS! i have tried pro active i have seen a dermatologist and other stuff.

I have a range of acne. like i have black heads on my nose. but i get the white pimples sometimes on my forhead and chin. I have acne that seems to be under my skin also, its on my forehad cheeks and chin.

At the momen i am using an apricot scrub and that Clean and Clear astringent. my frnd told it works... its ok... my face isnt dry...

does anyone have any solutions? if so please share, answers would be MUCH appreciated. %26lt;33
What is the best acne treatment for my skin?
I'm not a fan of astringent, However I use the Clean and Clear make-up remover on my whole face because it removes oil and such and that combined with the Apricot scrub worked out GREAT for me. Try not to use too many products though which may trigger your acne more. My face gets a bit dry when I get out the shower but I don't put moistrizer on because my natural oils usually take care of that problem within a few moments.
What is the best acne treatment for my skin?
Try Proactive. I've used it. It works.
Reply:Well, I would say take that new birth control Yaz (or whatever it's name is) to control the acne.
Reply:Proactive worked for me for a while. Then I started breaking out worse than ever. I got cysts on my face!! Its horrible. Now I'm trying "purpose" face soap because it's pure %26amp; has no chemicals or acids. Good luck to you, cuz I don't have any!
Reply:theres a product called La Roche-Posay (Effaclar) which works very well for me.. it gets the pimples off fast and i used to have a lot
Reply:Salicylic acid peels can work wonders...

They do a number on your face though and you look like a burn victim for about a week, so don't have one done when you are going to have something important going on.

Oh, and if you get one have it done before summer if you are out in the sun any...

Is there a doctor who does hair removal of black skin?
Yes, call the state medical association in Springfield, and ask about a dematologist that specializes in this area. I'm sure you'll find someone in Chicagoland that can do the work for you.

Anyone who knows about serious skin conditions-*carbuncle* please help!?

A few days ago I noticed a tender spot on my chin, and figured I was getting a pimple. I kept my face clear of makeup all weekend and washed well (which I always do when I'm forming a zit.). Yesterday night, I took a good look in the mirror and the tender spot had gotten surprisingly red, very hard, and had grown to the size of a pea! I have had problems before with sebaceous cyst pimples, the real hard kind that stay under the skin and don't go away quick. I figured that's what I was dealing with. This morning, I woke up miserable...my glands were swollen and it hurt to even talk. I looked in the mirror and there are 4 tiny white heads. When I showed my mom, she said from the looks of it, it's a carbuncle? She also told me that's most likely why my glands are swollen, and why I'm feeling sick. How did I get this? Why is it affecting my health so much? How can I make it go away? I don't have insurance, and I read that they sometimes they need to be surgically removed..help?!
Anyone who knows about serious skin conditions-*carbuncle* please help!?
A carbuncle is another name for a boil. It is caused by bacteria that found its way into your skin through a hair follicle. They can get very sore and large. Because its on your face it is close to the lymph glands and salivary glands in your mouth and neck and that's why they are swollen. The glands are trying to fight the infection. You probably need to have it looked at by a doctor and they can either lance and drain it, inject it with medication that will get rid of the gunk in it and shrink it and then you probably going to need antibiotics. I understand that you do not have insurance, but you need to have this taken care of. You could try holding a warm wash cloth on it to try and draw the pus out or purchase drawing salve from the drug store.

Seriously speaking, you should take a long, steady read at the Yahoo! group, [rosacea-cure].

There is a curative med defined there, that will most likely get rid of, (i.e. cure!!!), your problem completely, AND PERMANENTLY. And it's easy to know if this med is "needed", because it either shows its effectiveness, or it has no effect on healthy skin.

I know it sounds unusual, but this med is the biggest breakthrough since penicillin, because it cures a wide range of "stealthy diseases" that have NEVER BEEN CURABLE BEFORE NOW.

This med is being suppressed by "Big Pharma", because it's going to put a lot of doctors out of work, curing diseases that have been making $BILLIONS, and $TRILLIONS for so many "doctors", and a whole industry.

How do i make my skin a uniform color?

i mean, well (thank to acne %26gt;.%26gt;) i have red all over and those tiny dark spots under the skin, so how do i make those two factors disappear?
How do i make my skin a uniform color?
LOTS and LOTS of water. It really does do wonders to your skin and body. I had to start drinking tons of water when I started Massage Therapy school and my skins looks so good now.

Also, a good cleanser helps as well. I like Oil of Olay face wash. A moisturizer helps as well (for the face) All cleansers are not the same, nor will they work the same way for everyone. You will only learn whats best for your skin through trial and error, but like I said...WATER This is the cleanser and moisturizer I use. I have combination/oily skin.

And something for during the day...

Here's a picture of my skin. No make-up. A couple of blemishes left, but before all the extra water, my skin was oily with more than a few red bumps (acne), etc.

a lightening cream will probably restore your skin back to it's original color the red spots may began to fade

If it is a carbuncle, or boil, it may need to be lanced. Wouldn't really call it surgery though, it can be done in the doc's office. It probably affected your glands because of where it is, there are glands right under your chin, so those swelled up to try to fight the infection. If it is hard, red, causing a fever, has red streaks running from it, any of those things, you do need to see a doctor, it can get serious. You could go to Primacare or one of those places.

I have had such "cystic" conditions "lanced", myself, and I finally found the med, (DMSO + Fluconazole), that cures the "root cause" of these conditions.

What can be done about brusing of the skin when it bruises when just lightly bumped. It leaves red spots.?

Any time I hit my arm it is like a blood vessel breaks and it leaves a red blotch on my skin that looks like blood under the skin. I would like to know how to get rid of it quickly, it looks terrible. Is there some kind of treatment. and is there anything that can be taken to prevent this?

As we get older and our tissue and outer skin become thinner and less durable - the more easily we skin up, bruise, get skin tears etc. So there does come a point that I don't think anybody can help us with. But, for right now, I know of one thing... I try to be aware of when I bump or stumble or fall into something, and the minute it happens I reach for a piece of ice and rub it back and forth over the place for several minutes. I just did this day before yesterday, the second I hit my leg on the dishwasher door that was open and laying out across my path. It was an instant reaction and one I had not tried before, but now I remember hearing it. Long story short... usually I'm real red, then the next several days it gets to go from blue to black. I did the ice cube and you can't even tell where I hit my leg - I was almost running at the time - so I banged it really hard. So, the ice will keep the blood from coming to the surface and from pooling underneath our skin.

You should see a doctor and have your bleeding time checked. If bleeding time is normal, there is not much that can be done, except to avoid trauma.

Blue/Greyish mark underneath my skin, what is it?

I have a small round (about the size of a coin) blue mark under my skin on my lower back, little worried as its not going away. It has a slight lump, any ideas?

Its not a bruise, it has been there for months, a doc told me it was a non cancerous cyst and it would go away, its showing no signs of going still...
Blue/Greyish mark underneath my skin, what is it?
How long ago did the doc tell you it would go away? Did he do tests on it? If you are concerned still go see the doc again and tell him/her that you are worried and would like some tests to be run on it.

That sounds like one of the salivary glands that is under the tongue, though if you aren't sure, are in pain, or are simply worried, by all means, see your doctor.

I have one too... except its right under my bottom lip and I was born with it (grandpa has one too) and its kind of big (like 5 times the size of a pimple and almost perfectly round and sticks out a little. I got made fun of alot people would ask what it was and a bunch of mean kids would say its a pimple... Please help with INGROWN HAIR, REDNESS and stopping SKIN IRRITATION!!!?

I have stupid ingrown hair around my eyebrows. SUPER ANNOYING. I have had it for a few years. I use to just get frustrated and try to dig the hair out (ya i know...stupid). I don't anymore.

I clean some tweezers and when the hair curls under the skin that is now tough, i gently pull it out and wait till it grows out more to pluck it. I want to get rid of the now tougher red skin by my eyebrows. or more tips on how to get rid of ingrown hair!
Please help with INGROWN HAIR, REDNESS and stopping SKIN IRRITATION!!!?
Exfoliate

Use a gentile exfoliant every day to remove built up dead skin cells that can clog the surface of your skin and trap hair, causing it to become ingrown. Exfoliating pads, loofahs, and mild scrubs work well. Look for cleansers that contain Salicylic acid.

Witch Hazel is a fantastic remedy !!! But only apply as needed.

For razor burn and razor bumps, pat the effected area with apple cidar vinegar.

Simply put aloe vera on the effected area. This also helps with razor bumps.

Baby rash cream works wonders. After u shave rub some on.

Please help with INGROWN HAIR, REDNESS and stopping SKIN IRRITATION!!!?
There is a cream you can get for ingrown hairs, though i don't know how effective it is. Its called Legole Anti Ingrown Hair Aqua Conditioner and is available at Priceline and Priceline Pharmacies, Shaver Shops
Reply:well hello:) umm a good idea would be sum vitaman e(28000 ui) oil around the area, also try using soft exfoliationing soaps like honey or vanilla cream, when u do ur eye brows use achohal to clean the area usally 70% achohal works, along w. a very strong condisioning cream after that should take care of the redness.

How can I safely tan my very pale skin?

I am very pale and the skin that is usually hidden under the skin is almost milk white (but hey my bf thinks it's sexy). I would like to get a smidgen of color and was wondering is any of the lotions that have "gentle coloring" would be beneficial. I don't wanna get streaks or look orange. Any suggestions?

Jergens makes a tanning lotion that you build on each day. It works really well and doesn't make you "cheeto orange".

Reply:There is a bed called the Matrix which is a UVB free bed that is the ONLY safe bed for fair skinned people. You get a good tan and only have to go once a week to maintain. You absolutely cannot burn in this bed. It is semi expensive anywhere from 20-49 dollars a session in the town I live in. Don't use a regular bed because it is horrible on your skin and you will burn several times the first few times you go. Instead of a regular sunburn you get horrible itchiness and burning everywhere that was exposed. I would definitely check and see if anyone in your area has a Matrix bed. You also cannot use sunscreen in a bed you can only use accelerating lotions approved by the management which they sell at the salon. The reccomended times for regular beds vary but they all state the following for fair skin: We Do Not reccommend tanning for this skin type.

Or do what I do...lay out by the pool with some spf on you will still tan and not burn.
Reply:There are lots of lotions on the market these days for those of us girls that weren't blessed with golden skin and don't want to damage it with the sun's harmful rays. They give a natural glow with no orange color. It's nice to know that your guy loves your white skin. Mine does too. ;)
Reply:i just recently purchased a product from HSN called tan towels. They were only 32.00 for a large bag of them . They come individually wrapped and some are larger than others depending how much of your body you want to tan. The color is even and beautiful. I think it works with your own skin tone. Never been happier or looked healthier. Oh, the 32.00 covered shipping and handling also. check into it , hope you like it as much as I do.
Reply:You can buy a Nuetrogena tan spray I heard it works, you should try it the color looks nice and it looks real.

I have numbness on my skin near my belly button area and right side,?

I have had a Ultra sound as i have a lump on this side (suspect hernia) !!! under the skin
I have numbness on my skin near my belly button area and right side,?
If you have a hernia then the pressure from it presses on the nerves and can cause the numbness.
I have numbness on my skin near my belly button area and right side,?
have you thought about trying acupuncture?
Reply:Hi, When their is a lack of sensation / numbness to the skin this is usually caused by some sort of interruption to the nervous supply ( called neuropathy) . Due to injury or pressure on the nerve pathways supplying that area. Therefore it would seem that your Lump/Hernia is responsible. When it has been dealt with the sensation will return but may take some time to do so. So good luck and hope you get sorted out soon.

Harg lump/bump under...?

I have this small pea sike lump/bump on the back of my neck(it's under the skin). It doesn't hurt, just bothers me that it's there. I had my dr check it out and she said to just leave it alone. Has anyone else had something like this.

thanks for and advice/input.
Harg lump/bump under...?
It is probably a lymph node or a sebaceous cyst. Watch it closely. If it grows quickly (within a few weeks or months) and gets large get it checked out right away! Sebaceous cysts are common and usually will not cause any problems. It will simply be a little bump under the skin that you can play with when you're bored. If it is irritated or causes any kind of pain, make sure it gets checked out.
Harg lump/bump under...?
It may be a cyst. If it bothers you you can ask to have it removed. But it is hard to tell since we cannot see it.

Did you ask your doctor specifically what it was? If she can't answer you than you might want to seek out a second opinion.

My husband had a cyst on his back between the shoulder blades that became badly infected.

He had an epidermal cyst and needed antibiotics to stop the infection. He may still need to have it surgically removed. It was small, about the size of a walnut and had never bothered him until the infection. If this is what you have it may be better to have it removed rather than risk infection.

Epidermal cyst (sebaceous cyst)

http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec18/ch215/ch...
Reply:It is called a cyst.

It comes in all sizes and forms a bump under the skin. If it grows, ask for a biopsy.
Reply:i had the same thing , got told the same as you. since then ive developed more lumps, chronic fatique, and hair loss , i got a new doctor now they think i have hodgkins lymphoma ;please get a 2nd oppinion,,, see i even have rib pain and bone pain as well. good luck
Reply:It is probably a lymph node. I have the same thing. They are called cervical lymph nodes. I have one under my jaw and one in the back of my neck. My son also has one in his neck as well. Both our CT were negative. They usually swell from a local infection. Cavity, dandruff, acne, common colds. And it is possible that they do not show up until after the symptoms subside and some times they don't go away. However if you notice that it is getting larger, %26gt;1 inch, you have fevers, night sweats get it checked again. they scared the crap out of me with my son thinking that he had non Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Reply:you should get a scan of some sort. dont worry about being to aggresive to your doctors because it is YOUR health not theirs. It could be Melanoma or skin cancer. You really should get it checked.
Reply:This is probably either a small lymph node ( everybody has them ) or possible a skin lesion. It is good that your doc said it was OK but it should not get bigger. If it does do back, or go to someone else. If it's going to bother you go to another physician anyway, docs are not God.
Reply:go and seek another doctor.i myself have breast cancer my first doctor even after a mammo said that i was fine but still in pain i went to a whole new team of doctors and found out quickly that i have cancer ive been through chemo and now im going to have a mastectomy im very happy that i found out because it could have killed me and that was 9mos.ago and im making a strong fight so please check with another doctor just to make sure .

What is this rash on the cat's skin?

She has these grey/black lumps on her skin, paw/chin/bum. She's had one before over her eye and it was just gone after two three days but there are lots now. Are they bugs under the skin or bites? Do we need to do something or just let it be like the first time?
What is this rash on the cat's skin?
Even a vet wouldn't attempt a diagnosis like this, we can't see your pets and can't do any tests. Take your pet to the vet and if you're lucky it'll be something straightforward like ticks.

Even if someone else's pet has a similar sounding problem it may not be identical. Don't mess about with advice from 10 different people and 10 different home remedies, just go to the vet.

Skin mites burrow into the skin and yes, you may be able to see them. They need veterinary treatment.
What is this rash on the cat's skin?
go see a vet it could be bad for your cats health
Reply:Take to vet ask a vet to be sure
Reply:ah i just read your answers as i was hoping someone might tell you what they were and if any the treatment for it as my dog as the same problem they dont seem to bother him though and as you said there under the skin so they cant be mites as they are visauble from the outside of the skin yes he,s had these before so if you get any positive answers let me know please :-) cheers
Reply:Your cat might have a skin problem do bring her to a vet to check it out or u might wanna find ur answer from http://www.vetinfo.com/cacne.html

if u cant get any answers at all.
Reply:sounds like she has either an allergy, fleas can cause an allegy in some cats, take her to the vets anyway as the only action really is to get treatment sooner better than later. It the sores are open try a VERY weak solution of warm salty water gently bathed over affected areas.
Reply:Could be a flea or tick bites but check at the vet for your cat health
Reply:It sounds like your cat might have mites, or tics and a really bad case of them at that you should take her to the vet for treatment.
Reply:I've always had cats, and one of my favourites no longer with me, was allergic to fleas. The bites would appear like you have described, hard and scabby, and I would know to treat all of the cats then. Buy a flea collar and see if the problem disappears in a week to 10 days. If your cat appears otherwise healthy and is eating properly, dont panic, but if the problem doesnt go away, its time to write a cheque for the vet. good luck
Reply:There are many things which could cause this; flea allergy, mites under the skin, ticks, insect bites, food allergies; whatever it is, DONT just "wait for it to go away" How would you like it if some maggots were burrowing under your skin and the doc said "wait for it to go away"? Whatever is is, your cat is in pain and discomfort- just because it cant say "Ouch, it hurts" doesnt meean he is fine!! Get him to a vet, fast. Home remedies do not work, and all the while you are trying them, your cat is in pain and the condition is getting worse. SICK CATS NEED VETS%26gt;
Reply:Sounds like ticks to me. They burrow their head under the skin and feed on the blood getting larger and larger. When they have had enough they just drop off. Don't try to pull them off or the head gets left behind and gets infected. Cats pick them up in the garden and there isn't a lot you can do to stop them apart from using something like Frontline. If in doubt always ask your vet.
Reply:could be little flea bites and have been itching badly by thier claws when they scratch
