I have cysts/lumps uner my skin.?

I have probably 10 lumps/cysts under my skin. the biggest on my right leg about half way down my quad is about the size of a quarter, and it feels as if it is split, or has a ridge down in , and that one will get bigger when I work out. The others are about the size of dimes or nickels. 2 are on my leg, 2 on my back, one on my ribs, one on the lower part of my stomach., 1 on my right side...

They all are semi hard and they move a litle. the one on my back(on my ribs) kind of hurts if you push on it...

I am a big guy at 6"4' 280lbs, I am a built guy and i lift a lot, my body fat is around 24%, and I play football, but

What are these?

I had the one on my leg checked and he said it was some sort of cyst?

But does anyone know what these are?

I am an Registered Massage Therapist, and our thoughts on these "cysts" are...

1) if it moves great it is when you cant move it that i would be alarmed

2) does it cause you pain to move it? if yes not so great

always check with the doc first, if the doc say no probs then no probs, but yes adipose tissue can form under the skin (i have to on my saccrum which have been there for years, and i have tons of clients that have them, unfortunately if they "the cysts" check out ok, then it is just more of how do they look to me thing then a what are they harming thing :) also a fluid sac sometimes will gather and will need to be drained... fun fun

don't know but i heard someone call them fat lumps but i have like 6 of them none split but they are rock hard and don't move

What is the best acne treatment for my skin?

i have blotchy skin, even when its clear (that happened mayb once in the past two years.) I have acne in the "t-zone" and on my chest and back- talk about all time GROSS! i have tried pro active i have seen a dermatologist and other stuff.

I have a range of acne. like i have black heads on my nose. but i get the white pimples sometimes on my forhead and chin. I have acne that seems to be under my skin also, its on my forehad cheeks and chin.

At the momen i am using an apricot scrub and that Clean and Clear astringent. my frnd told it works... its ok... my face isnt dry...

does anyone have any solutions? if so please share, answers would be MUCH appreciated. %26lt;33

I'm not a fan of astringent, However I use the Clean and Clear make-up remover on my whole face because it removes oil and such and that combined with the Apricot scrub worked out GREAT for me. Try not to use too many products though which may trigger your acne more. My face gets a bit dry when I get out the shower but I don't put moistrizer on because my natural oils usually take care of that problem within a few moments.

Reply:Proactive worked for me for a while. Then I started breaking out worse than ever. I got cysts on my face!! Its horrible. Now I'm trying "purpose" face soap because it's pure %26amp; has no chemicals or acids. Good luck to you, cuz I don't have any!
Reply:theres a product called La Roche-Posay (Effaclar) which works very well for me.. it gets the pimples off fast and i used to have a lot
Reply:Salicylic acid peels can work wonders...

They do a number on your face though and you look like a burn victim for about a week, so don't have one done when you are going to have something important going on.

Oh, and if you get one have it done before summer if you are out in the sun any...

Is there a doctor who does hair removal of black skin?

I am an African-American woman who is in need of hair removal. I am in search of a Doctor who practices in Chicago. I am of a darker complexion and need a doctor who deals with this skin tone. I need help because my coarse hair is scarring my skin because of ingrown hairs that coils and grows under the skin and hurt alot. Please help. Thank you.

Yes, call the state medical association in Springfield, and ask about a dematologist that specializes in this area. I'm sure you'll find someone in Chicagoland that can do the work for you.

Anyone who knows about serious skin conditions-carbuncle please help!?

A few days ago I noticed a tender spot on my chin, and figured I was getting a pimple. I kept my face clear of makeup all weekend and washed well (which I always do when I'm forming a zit.). Yesterday night, I took a good look in the mirror and the tender spot had gotten surprisingly red, very hard, and had grown to the size of a pea! I have had problems before with sebaceous cyst pimples, the real hard kind that stay under the skin and don't go away quick. I figured that's what I was dealing with. This morning, I woke up miserable...my glands were swollen and it hurt to even talk. I looked in the mirror and there are 4 tiny white heads. When I showed my mom, she said from the looks of it, it's a carbuncle? She also told me that's most likely why my glands are swollen, and why I'm feeling sick. How did I get this? Why is it affecting my health so much? How can I make it go away? I don't have insurance, and I read that they sometimes they need to be surgically removed..help?!

A carbuncle is another name for a boil. It is caused by bacteria that found its way into your skin through a hair follicle. They can get very sore and large. Because its on your face it is close to the lymph glands and salivary glands in your mouth and neck and that's why they are swollen. The glands are trying to fight the infection. You probably need to have it looked at by a doctor and they can either lance and drain it, inject it with medication that will get rid of the gunk in it and shrink it and then you probably going to need antibiotics. I understand that you do not have insurance, but you need to have this taken care of. You could try holding a warm wash cloth on it to try and draw the pus out or purchase drawing salve from the drug store.

Seriously speaking, you should take a long, steady read at the Yahoo! group, [rosacea-cure].

There is a curative med defined there, that will most likely get rid of, (i.e. cure!!!), your problem completely, AND PERMANENTLY. And it's easy to know if this med is "needed", because it either shows its effectiveness, or it has no effect on healthy skin.

How do i make my skin a uniform color?

i mean, well (thank to acne %26gt;.%26gt;) i have red all over and those tiny dark spots under the skin, so how do i make those two factors disappear?

LOTS and LOTS of water. It really does do wonders to your skin and body. I had to start drinking tons of water when I started Massage Therapy school and my skins looks so good now.

Also, a good cleanser helps as well. I like Oil of Olay face wash. A moisturizer helps as well (for the face) All cleansers are not the same, nor will they work the same way for everyone. You will only learn whats best for your skin through trial and error, but like I said...WATER This is the cleanser and moisturizer I use. I have combination/oily skin.

Here's a picture of my skin. No make-up. A couple of blemishes left, but before all the extra water, my skin was oily with more than a few red bumps (acne), etc.

a lightening cream will probably restore your skin back to it's original color the red spots may began to fade
Reply:just run without shirt, and your body is going to get even color. now if you want to include the parts where the sun doesn't get in.. go to a nudist beach and laid there for one hour naked.. half facing up, and half facing down.

What can be done about brusing of the skin when it bruises when just lightly bumped. It leaves red spots.?

Any time I hit my arm it is like a blood vessel breaks and it leaves a red blotch on my skin that looks like blood under the skin. I would like to know how to get rid of it quickly, it looks terrible. Is there some kind of treatment. and is there anything that can be taken to prevent this?

As we get older and our tissue and outer skin become thinner and less durable - the more easily we skin up, bruise, get skin tears etc. So there does come a point that I don't think anybody can help us with. But, for right now, I know of one thing... I try to be aware of when I bump or stumble or fall into something, and the minute it happens I reach for a piece of ice and rub it back and forth over the place for several minutes. I just did this day before yesterday, the second I hit my leg on the dishwasher door that was open and laying out across my path. It was an instant reaction and one I had not tried before, but now I remember hearing it. Long story short... usually I'm real red, then the next several days it gets to go from blue to black. I did the ice cube and you can't even tell where I hit my leg - I was almost running at the time - so I banged it really hard. So, the ice will keep the blood from coming to the surface and from pooling underneath our skin.

You should see a doctor and have your bleeding time checked. If bleeding time is normal, there is not much that can be done, except to avoid trauma.

Reply:Are you taking any medications? I do the same thing and I'm wondering if thats what causes it. I have athsma and use Advair and I also take Tylenol for joint pain. They just go away after a few days, don't know how you would make them go away quicker.
Reply:It looks to be platlets disorder(A Cell in the blood contributing our blood clotting mechanism.get your blood test done for platlets counts. Avoid warm environment.if severe problem get some steroids after doctor consultation
