Hi Mawanda.

Please make sure you're getting at least 8 hours sleep as this will greatly help. Secondly, drink a lot of water. Leaving a cold vitamin e moisturizer in the fridge and applying it will also help...You may have an allergy that is causing the bags, so keep that in mind. There is a link below for some remedies. (:

Getting enough sleep would probably help.
Reply:Getting enough sleep would be a good start. ~
Reply:First off, try to fit in at least 8 hours of sleep into your day. You must also keep yourself completely hydrated throughout the day (drinking things like water, etc... nothing with sugar)

Sleep isn't always the only problem. It's sometimes hereditary. does anyone else in your family have this problem? It can also be caused by stress. The darkness under the eye is caused by ruptured cappilaries (blood vessels) beneath the eye. Since the skin under it is so thin, it shows through.

There are many creams and ointments on the market for treating bags, but many are very expensive, and I can't reccomend any in particular. When I had this problem, I put one a bit of moisturizing cream throughout the day. If you want to try this, make sure it's for sensitive skin so it doesn't irritate your eye. It also can't have any fragrance added.

Nature methods... I can name two. One is to chill and wet used teabags and then put them on your eyes. The caffine in them will revitalize your cells. Another method is to use slices of cucumber. It's naturally cool so it will also refresh your eyes.

For covering them -- but not getting rid of them -- try using a coverup or foundation that's a shade or two lighter than your normal skin tone.
Reply:Hey! You are worrying too much! I have got suitcases under my eyes, not bags! Go to the make up counters in shops for creams if you can't wear make up. And you may get some free samples as well as some good tips. good luck x
Reply:I would definitely consult a physician, you may be missing out on a few essential vitamins. You spoke about do taking care of it the natural way. I personally drink Aloe Vera extract in a fresh squeezed carrot and orange drink. That is said to improve ones complexion. And drink a lot of water, that will definitely help overall balance in the body. I have this book that goes over holistic remedies, but I'm at work. If you don't get good advice from here, go to a natural food market. They will know which direction to lead you in. Good Luck.
Reply:Try applying chilled used tea bags. Leave them on for half an hour...helps the eyes to relax . Green tea bags work wonderfully. You can also try the age old remedy of chilled cucumber slices. It's not an overnight solution. Persist and you will find that the darkness will lighten to your natural tone. Lastly, warm water helps to detox the liver which is the cause of a number of skin problems. A good eye cream applied before sleeping helps too.
Reply:I totally agree with all the responses to your question so far but I do have one to add to the pot.

You don't say if you wear glasses or not. Sometimes the problem is the lack of air getting to your lower lids.

Many make-up artists and natural beauty therapists will advice using *gentle*! tapping along the delicate skin under your eyes. This encourages the blood supply bringing oxygen and nutrients to the problem area.

Also, when you cleanse your skin, start at the inside of the eye, near the nose and cleanse in a circular motion out to the edge and up towards the inner eyelid. All the motions MUST be gentle, the skin is really delicate around the eyes. Use a gentle cleanser like simple or clinique (if your feeling rich)

Hope it helps, but just remember, it's what you're like on the inside that counts!
Reply:i have this problem, %26amp; growing up i remember the teachers would always asked me if i slept ok last night. I always got my 8 hrs %26amp; it was in my family. There are tons of creams in your local drugstore. Now that im 17, I just put makeup on them, and now it doesnt look like i have dark circles anymore. but you can also go to a dermatologist? ask him if he or she knows of anything effective. [=
